Seriously…. why on earth do those last 10 pounds stick to you like glue? Literally they are stuck in the worst places ever! For some of you it might be your thighs, your butt, your abs but for me its my stomach and love handles. I mean I feel like I would literally have to starve myself to get them to go away, which would NEVER happen because if you saw my pantry you would know that I LOVE FOOD way too much to ever give it up! The bottom line is this, eating healthy is hard, sticking to a fitness program from beginning to end is HARD but what is the hardest is when you get to a weight where you are starting to feel comfortable and the last 10 lbs just stick to you like glue. No matter what you do they just won’t go away.
So you have two choices! You can either accept the last 10 pounds and deal with them. Which in my opinion would be the easy way out. Or you can choose to buckle down and send those lbs. packing! So that is what I am doing! I may have fallen off the wagon a few times like sleeping in instead of doing my workout, or enjoying some pizza and ice cream over the weekend, but Sunday I sat down and wrote out my meal plan and checked out how many more weeks I had left in my Insanity workout program and I’m ready to kick these last few lbs. to the curb.
So these last few lbs. are partly my fault 🙂 I will do great during the week and then the weekend comes and I go out with friends or my mother-in-law makes the most amazing meal and dessert and I’m back where I started before the week began.
So how do you discontinue that cycle?? You get focused on what you want…
#1 Keep motivational pictures and quotes where you can see them. Make one of them your phone screen saver, put a quote by the tv so you get pumped in the morning when you do your workout. Wherever you go during the day have something there to motivate you to keep going!
#2 You create a meal plan, you actually take the time to print out the meal plan, tape it to the fridge and go to the grocery store and get the foods so that you actually can eat what you planned out vs just half assing it! You don’t get results unless you take action. You can plan all you want but you gotta do it for it to work!
#3 You are optimistic. Lets face it, there are going to be hurdles like the pizza and ice cream again. There won’t EVER be a perfect time to get in shape, to start eating healthy. The only time is right now! If you choose to start now and you choose to embrace the challenges with a smile on your face then you will have success. So no matter what just know that this is a part of the process. Smile and know that change will happen if you stick with it long enough. There are no quick fixes in life.
#4 Do the work. It’s time! You set the alarm for 6:00 am and it goes off. You have a choice! You can turn off the alarm and go back to sleep, you can hit snooze or you can tell yourself that you are up and that this is worth it! What might seem like a struggle now will surely pay off! You peel yourself out of bed, put on those workout shoes and no matter what you do NOT make excuses.
-The kids didn’t sleep
-I have a stuffy nose.
-I have to work a long day today.
-I went to bed too late last night.
-I can’t find my shoes.
Seriously I have heard it all! I have made all of those excuses for myself! But those that want results will find a ways because they have the WILL to change. So do you have the will and want to change?
#5 Don’t Quit! You may have lost 20 lbs and you have 10 more to go and the effort has just been so great that you don’t think you have anything left to give! Oh yes you do!! Don’t stop half way through! You wouldn’t tell your kids to quit before they reach their goal, so don’t you give that excuse to yourself either!!! DEAL!
So as I’m writing this here I am really giving myself my own pep-talk because even I need a good kick in the pants every once in a while.
I know that I can do this, I can stick to the plan and I can be successful! So cheers to this week and the next, being dedicated to my nutrition and rocking out the last 10 lbs and oh the most important part…. saying good bye to the post baby tummy and love handles.
80% is nutrition and that is always everyone’s struggle. So will you hold me accountable? I will do the same for you?!?!
Lets do this! Let’s stay accountable and lets kick some 10 pounds booty this week!
